Cannonball

Cannonball

"Cannonball" can be traced back to a request from a book publisher to view my American Strip Club series. However, their response to the work was disheartening, as they were disappointed by the lack of nudity in the photographs. Despite my explanation that the focus was on the desolate buildings which housed shattered dreams, representing the bleak reality of hopelessness, the publisher insisted that adding naked people to the collection would be more appealing to their audience.

Feeling disenchanted by the situation, I decided to take an unconventional approach and send the publisher a series of ridiculous photos featuring naked individuals performing cannonballs in my pool. Although it may have seemed like a foolish idea at the time, something amazing happens as the body plummets through the water, and the fluidness of the human form is highlighted. The body twists and turns in a graceful dance, contorting and shaping itself to the force of the water. The surface tension creates waves and the air that is dragged down generates bubbles clustered together, they form a cloud-like structure that undulates and moves through the water in a flocking motion. The movement of the cloud is fluid and graceful, with the bubbles following each other in a mesmerizing dance. The interplay of light and shadow creates an intriguing contrast, highlighting the curves and edges of the body.

I never sent the pictures.
